Senior Design Engineer – Faith & Performance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• The Senior Design Engineer (SDE) serves as a key member of the core team for every Faith & Performance project.

• The SDE offers guidance and oversight throughout the project life cycle, from initial sales concepts to design development, construction drawings, and implementation support.

• Collaborate as needed with F&P Subject Matter Expert (SME) teams.

• Provide mentorship to other design engineers within the project team.

• Responsible for evaluating products and making informed equipment decisions.

• Advise on scope modifications and oversee programming and commissioning activities.

• Review and approve drawing packages prepared by other design engineers while supervising their work.

• Lead intricate engagements and interact directly with Account Executives, clients, project teams, and other Design Engineers to create specifications, designs, budgets, timelines, and manage expectations.

• Negotiate adjustments in deliverables and timelines, serving as the escalation point for engineering challenges.

• Prepare Faith and Performance project estimates, Bill of Materials (BOM), Bid Response submissions, and project agreements in collaboration with the Sales Engineer and Proposal Manager.

• Provide regular updates on project engineering milestones to the Technical Operations resource planning team.

• Test, commission, and configure subsystems during project rollout.

• Support projects and teams during the build phase.

• Create a comprehensive design documentation strategy based on established engineering best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in live audio or video production as an end user in the relevant field.

• Candidates should demonstrate expertise in production system technologies, with a specialization in at least one of the major areas: concert audio, broadcast video, or stage lighting.

• Ability to comprehend, synthesize, and design AV systems.

• Knowledge of TCP/IP routing, QoS, VLANs, and Wireless Access Points.

• Proficient in MS Office 365 and Apple Pages.

• Skilled in MS Excel and similar quoting tools (D-Tools, Jetbuilt, etc.) for generating quotes.

• A comprehensive and demonstrable understanding of the construction process, installation, integration, as well as architectural and construction drawings and specifications.
