📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance delivery visibility in complex, dependency-laden projects by tracking cross-team obstacles, integration risks, and upstream/downstream exposure.

• Model the effects of scope alterations, timeline adjustments, and capacity limitations by presenting structured alternatives with clear trade-offs to stakeholders.

• Ensure backlog readiness discipline by confirming that work entering execution is well-defined and has mapped dependencies prior to commencement.

• Proactively identify and manage delivery risks by surfacing issues early, quantifying their impact, and outlining resolution paths for engineering and product leadership.

• Continuously improve delivery operating standards that minimize rework, carryover, and execution variability over time.

• Utilize AI tools to expedite operational tasks, such as status synthesis, risk narrative generation, and backlog readiness summarization, while ensuring human judgment guides prioritization and stakeholder communication.

• Shape engineer and product manager behaviors through structured data, promoting accountability and shared clarity on delivery obligations.

• Clearly outline delivery trade-offs by showcasing structured options with explicit implications for timelines, quality, and capacity.

• Collaborate with Product Managers to uphold readiness standards and safeguard delivery integrity when scope pressures intensify.

• Clearly communicate delivery feasibility and assurance to the engineering team and collaborating Project Managers, providing early warnings when assumptions shift and presenting recovery options when necessary.

• Advance production release schedules in coordination with the development team, Product Manager, and relevant change advisory processes to ensure preparedness for releases.

• Maintain a solid understanding of the technical systems your team supports, including integration surfaces, API dependencies, and release risks in context.

• Facilitate collaboration across engineering, QE, architecture, and platform teams to manage cross-functional dependencies and resolve blockers effectively.

• Employ delivery metrics (e.g., cycle time, throughput, carryover, predictability) as operational indicators to drive structural improvements in team workflows.

• Manage a Kanban-based delivery system for a team balancing planned work and urgent operational demands.

• Maintain a balance between intake discipline and responsiveness by ensuring flow efficiency while protecting planned delivery commitments from reactive pressures.

• Model WIP impact and context-switching costs to safeguard team throughput and focus.

• Enhance intake and triage processes to structure interrupt-driven work without introducing bureaucratic overhead.

• Track Kanban flow metrics (e.g., lead time, cycle time, and queue depth) to identify bottlenecks and maintain optimal throughput.

• Collaborate with dependent teams and platform users to ensure demand visibility and proactively set clear expectations.

• Oversee sprint cadence and iteration health across one or more engineering teams, focusing on commitment reliability and sprint goal integrity.

• Enforce sprint entry discipline by ensuring stories meet sizing and readiness standards before planning commences and maintaining standards when they do not.

• Monitor and enhance sprint predictability using carryover, velocity trends, and planning accuracy as signals to refine team operations.

• Manage scope pressures during active sprints by modeling the impact of additions or changes and providing clear trade-off options to the Product Manager before commitments are altered.

• Maintain visibility of cross-sprint dependencies across teams or workstreams, identifying risks and timelines.

• Conduct retrospectives as structured operational reviews, pinpointing systemic delivery friction and ensuring follow-through on necessary changes.


⛳️ Requirements

• 5 to 7 years of experience in delivery management within software engineering teams in a fintech or similarly regulated, technically complex environment.

• Proven ability to influence engineer and product manager actions through structured approaches, data, and clear framing.

• Demonstrated experience in building or significantly enhancing delivery systems: reducing carryover, improving commitment reliability, or increasing planning quality through structural modifications.

• Experience in modeling delivery trade-offs and presenting structured alternatives to leadership.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including integration complexities, release management, dependency modeling, and cross-team coordination.

• Strong working proficiency in Jira for tracking dependencies, modeling delivery, and gaining operational insights.

• Proficient in operating within API-heavy, integration-dependent backend environments where delivery risks are inherent in system connections.

• Prior experience managing Kanban-based teams in service-oriented or platform engineering contexts.

• Effective use of flow metrics (e.g., lead time, cycle time, WIP) as daily operational tools for managing team health and throughput.

• Proven experience utilizing AI-assisted tools (LLMs, AI-enhanced Jira workflows, or similar) to boost delivery throughput, minimize coordination overhead, or expedite artifact generation, with the discernment to identify when AI output requires human review prior to stakeholder presentation.

• A calm, structured approach to ambiguity, capable of resetting expectations and maintaining delivery integrity amidst changing plans.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, inclusive of the ability to clearly articulate engineering implications to non-technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
