Senior Data/BI Analyst, Focus on Governance, Data Visualization, Monitoring

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Capacity Monitoring: Oversee Fabric Capacity Metrics / FUAM on a daily basis to avert and address throttling and performance issues within the environment.

• Performance Tuning: Analyze sluggish or resource-intensive reports and semantic models, executing reverse engineering to enhance DAX and data structures.

• Governance and Administration: Oversee the data lifecycle (DevOps/Git/Deployment Pipelines), conduct access and security audits (RLS/OLS), and manage workspace topology.

• Consultative Role (Evangelization): Collaborate with report developers from various departments (Shadow IT) to identify root causes of performance issues, provide best practice guidance, and negotiate refresh schedules.

• Architecture Evolution: Assist in architectural decisions regarding the usage of Lakehouse, Warehouse, or semantic models in Direct Lake, ensuring integration with the existing data ecosystem.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven Seniority in Power BI/Fabric: Over 5 years of experience, ideally in the administration and support of Premium or Fabric environments.

• Essential knowledge of tuning tools such as DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, and experience with the Performance Analyzer.

• Hands-on expertise in DAX optimization along with a strong understanding of Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema) and data architecture.

• Familiarity with version control (Git), deployment processes (Deployment Pipelines), and the use of Power BI REST APIs for governance automation.

• Plus: Previous experience with integrations related to Azure Data Lake Gen2 and Azure Databricks.

• Consultative and Diplomatic Profile: Ability to collaborate with executives and business units whose reports may be utilizing company resources. Must be capable of technically declining requests while suggesting solutions that minimize political friction.

• Investigative Capacity and Autonomy: Strong emphasis on identifying root causes (troubleshooting). Should be a professional who seeks to understand failures instead of merely restarting processes, implementing safeguards to prevent future occurrences.

• Ownership and Proactivity: Must be proactive rather than reactive (not just waiting for tickets). Should actively monitor logs and anticipate incidents (e.g., take action on a model before it fully utilizes compute resources).
