BI Report Developer, SQL Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Convert business requirements into SQL-driven database solutions, including stored procedures, functions, and reports for clients.

• Create, sustain, and resolve issues related to SQL queries, database objects, and reporting solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and contemporary reporting platforms.

• Work in partnership with Solution Analysts, Project Managers, Validation teams, and fellow engineers to produce high-quality outcomes for clinical studies.

• Engage in code reviews, testing, production releases, and ongoing improvement initiatives while ensuring accurate technical documentation.

• Acquire knowledge of new technologies, reporting tools, and development practices while gradually assuming responsibility for assigned clinical study projects with guidance from experienced mentors.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Around 1–3 years of experience in SQL development, database programming, reporting development, or a similar technical position.

• Proficient understanding of SQL fundamentals, including query writing, joins, stored procedures, functions, and database logic.

• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or any other relational database system.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to convert functional requirements into technical solutions.

• A demonstrated eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-changing technical landscape.

• Experience with Python or contemporary reporting and visualization tools is a plus, though not mandatory.

• Experience with XML, XSLT, JavaScript, or CSS is beneficial but not essential.

• Excellent communication skills and the capacity to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

• Must possess authorization to work in Costa Rica and be able to work remotely from Costa Rica.
