Senior Database Administrator, PostgreSQL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Armenia.

📋 Description

• Design, build, install, and maintain extensive relational databases

• Ensure database integrity and security, including backup and recovery processes

• Implement and oversee disaster recovery and failover systems

• Monitor database performance, execute changes, and apply patches and updates as necessary

• Optimize queries for enhanced performance

• Collaborate with development teams to enhance database utilization

• Establish and manage database replication, clustering, mirroring, and other high-availability methods

• Utilize and comprehend tools such as PgBouncer and contemporary monitoring systems

• Keep abreast of the latest database technologies and industry best practices

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (mandatory), including setup, replication, upgrades, monitoring, and performance tuning

• Capability to write and optimize intricate SQL queries

• Experience with backup and recovery techniques, including Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR)

• Strong grasp of database design, documentation, and development best practices

• Familiarity with ClickHouse is advantageous

• Working knowledge of scripting/programming languages such as Bash, Python, or Go

• Experience managing DBaaS solutions on cloud platforms; familiarity with GCP or AWS is a plus

• Proven experience in migrating large databases across cloud platforms

• Knowledge of modern DevOps practices, including Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm

• Experience with real-time data streaming technologies such as Debezium or Flink

• Relevant certifications or formal training in database management are beneficial

• Strong analytical skills and excellent communication capabilities

• Professional proficiency in English (B2 level or above)
