Oracle Database Administrator – 100% Remote

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Administer, maintain, and provide support for Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c and later) in both on-premises and cloud settings.

• Proactively monitor databases to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and stability.

• Analyze performance and conduct SQL and PL/SQL tuning utilizing AWR, ASH, ADDM, statistics, and execution plans.

• Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies with RMAN, which includes regular restore tests and Disaster Recovery plans.

• Administer and troubleshoot Oracle RAC environments effectively.

• Oversee ASM (Automatic Storage Management).

• Configure and maintain Oracle Data Guard, including physical/logical standby, switchover, and failover processes.

• Plan and implement data migrations and version upgrades.

• Assist development teams in optimizing SQL and PL/SQL code.

• Enforce security best practices, including the management of users, roles, and privileges.

• Create and maintain technical documentation along with operational procedures.

• Provide support for production environments, including the management of critical incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience as an Oracle DBA.

• In-depth knowledge of Oracle Performance & Tuning.

• Extensive knowledge of RMAN (backups and restores).

• Strong understanding of Oracle RAC.

• Proficient in ASM.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle Data Guard.

• Solid expertise in SQL and PL/SQL.

• Experience with data migration processes.

• Background in mission-critical, high-availability environments.

• Familiarity with Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems.

• Experience in automation scripting (Shell, SQL*Plus, etc.).

• English proficiency at level B2 or higher.

• Candidates must be located in Portugal.
