This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Deliver thorough Oracle database support within a high-performance and highly available setting.
• Work in conjunction with application and business support teams to assess, design, and execute intricate database solutions.
• Install, configure, and oversee Oracle database environments across Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
• Implement, configure, and maintain high-availability solutions for Oracle databases.
• Conduct Oracle database patching and upgrades in a diverse landscape that includes Exadata, RAC, virtual machines, Veritas active/passive clustering, Data Guard, and Golden Gate.
• Optimize Oracle database performance by executing database tuning, SQL and PL/SQL tuning, and hardware/operating system consultations related to database efficiency.
• Ensure database compliance with stringent audit standards, including SOX, PCI, FDA, FISMA, and HIPAA.
• Adhere to change control policies diligently.
• Oversee database security at every level.
• Execute database backup, recovery, and cloning procedures.
• Automate and sustain automation for routine database tasks.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A decade of Oracle DBA experience on Unix, Linux, and Windows platforms, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in the installation, configuration, and administration of Oracle databases, including standalone and clustered databases using RAC, Oracle Exadata, Veritas active/passive clustering, virtual machines, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle Golden Gate.
• Experience in engaging and managing Oracle support and Oracle Platinum support teams.
• Skills in analyzing and tuning Oracle database environments, including configuring databases for peak performance and tuning challenging SQL and PL/SQL.
• Familiarity with Oracle Golden Gate and data replication, encompassing installation and deployment of Golden Gate locally and through hub installations, instantiation of replication, and troubleshooting replication issues.
• Ability to create and sustain automation scripts for routine database administration tasks.
• Competence in Unix/Linux shell scripting or equivalent experience with Powershell, Perl, and Java.
• Knowledge of database audit compliance, including SOX, PCI, FDA, FISMA, and HIPAA controls.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, and cloning using Oracle Rman, Veeam, EMC disk cloning, Data Domain, NFS, and Oracle ZFS backup technologies.
• Expertise in database physical and logical design for both transactional and data warehouse systems.
• Experience in managing databases in Amazon Web Services and Oracle Cloud deployments, including RDS, EC2, and ATP installations, covering resizing, patching, security, and maintenance.
• Proficient in analyzing, implementing, managing, and testing extensive heterogeneous Database Disaster Recovery setups.
• Skills in database security, including patching, user creation, password rotation, privilege management, profile management, and database encryption.
• Experience in supporting large ERP systems, including SAP, JD Edwards Enterprise One, ecommerce, and significant data warehouses.
• Implementing and maintaining PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redshift databases.
• Ability to disseminate information effectively to both technical team members and leadership while documenting and maintaining records for critical processes and SOPs.
