This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Develop and modify database architectures, ensuring optimal configurations for both transactional accuracy and analytical reporting.
• Execute advanced database maintenance activities, including backups/restores, updating statistics, optimizing indexes, and tuning performance.
• Actively monitor and enhance database performance within AWS MySQL, Azure TSQL, and Databricks AnsiSQL environments.
• Design, implement, and oversee Master Data Management (MDM) solutions to maintain data consistency across various systems.
• Collaborate with data engineers to align production data with data warehouse solutions in accordance with MDM standards.
• Create and sustain detailed Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), system flow documents, and technical specifications for leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure system security and data integrity across all data environments.
• Work alongside systems engineers to enhance hardware and storage subsystems for AWS.
• Develop, manage, and uphold comprehensive disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
• Collaborate with Infosec and Security teams on matters of data compliance, security, and retention.
• Engage in data architectural design reviews with both Technology and Data teams.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to team members regarding database best practices.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• Over 6 years of hands-on SQL coding experience across various platforms (AWS MySQL, Azure TSQL, Databricks AnsiSQL).
• More than 6 years of experience in data modeling, ERD design, and database optimization for both production write performance and reporting/auditing integrity.
• Proven track record in supporting data systems in both Technology and Data team settings.
• Strong knowledge of the AWS cloud platform.
• Demonstrated success in creating or managing Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.
• Practical experience with Databricks (AWS and/or Azure).
• Familiarity with AWS data orchestration or similar ETL tools.
