This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate as a vital member of the DBA team, primarily working alongside Application Development teams to offer guidance, troubleshooting, and optimization for in-house applications.
• Execute DBA responsibilities, which include responding to database support requests, monitoring database availability, performing backups, managing user access, participating in failover testing, and other routine activities.
• Create documentation for the database environment utilizing industry-standard diagramming techniques to illustrate application/database dependencies. Additionally, develop a data dictionary and document data mappings between various data sources.
• Conduct DDL and application code reviews to ensure functionality related to databases.
• Possess an understanding of programming languages (such as Python, Java, or similar) and make informed design recommendations for effective and logical data use and database resource management.
• Deliver high-level technical DBA support across various Operating Environments (OE) while assisting software development and operational teams with database definition, structure, long-term requirements, operational guidelines, and security/integrity controls in line with industry best practices.
• Aid in designing and implementing a new database-dependent application, ensuring minimal migration downtime and high resiliency.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across database and application tiers.
• Analyze, solve, and rectify issues independently in real-time, providing effective problem resolution.
• Collaborate closely with L1/L2/L3 support teams to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Over 10 years of practical Oracle database administration experience in a mission-critical 24x7 environment.
• Software development experience in Java, React, Typescript, Python, Node, Go, or similar technologies.
• Proficient in full database lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, cloning, backups, and recovery.
• Experience in creating and maintaining an enterprise data dictionary.
• Familiarity with ETL processes.
• Understanding of Unix operating systems.
• Nice to Have:
• Experience with automated database deployment using tools like Jenkins, Ansible, or similar.
• MySQL database administration experience.
• Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment with a comprehension of ITIL frameworks.
• Experience managing Oracle EBS environments, including installation, patching, cloning, and performance tuning.
• At least 4 years of AWS experience in designing and supporting hyper-scale mission-critical database architectures.
• Minimum of 2 years of proficiency in writing, profiling, and optimizing SQL queries for performance.
• Over 2 years of experience in creating and maintaining Entity Relationship Diagrams.
• Knowledge of data warehouses, data marts, data lakes, modeling, and profiling.
• Strong understanding of Java, AWS Lambda, and development frameworks.
