This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.
• Manage, monitor, maintain, and enhance Microsoft SQL Server environments throughout the enterprise.
• Establish and advocate for database standards, governance, and best practices within the organization.
• Assist in the design of data architectures, encompassing data integration strategies, schema development, data quality, storage choices, and performance factors.
• Install, configure, patch, and oversee SQL Server and associated database products.
• Take ownership of and enhance backup, recovery, and disaster recovery protocols to guarantee operational continuity.
• Implement and uphold database security measures in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Lead efforts in performance tuning, query optimization, archiving, and overall data lifecycle management.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on SQL scalability and advanced data storage subjects, planning and executing improvement initiatives.
• Specify non-functional requirements (NFRs) for new services during the design phase.
• Engage in technical design discussions, representing operational and platform considerations.
• Assist in low-level solution design for new products and technology deployments.
• Offer troubleshooting, consulting, and technical assistance to development and broader IT teams.
• Enhance legacy database environments through analysis, modernization, and operational enhancements.
• Disseminate knowledge within the broader infrastructure team via documentation, technical overviews, and collaborative support.
• Extensive hands-on experience managing Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise-level environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in database monitoring, backup/recovery, patching, security, and performance tuning.
• Experience with high availability, resilience, and scalability across database platforms.
• Strong understanding of database architecture, schema design, and data integration methodologies.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience in complex, business-critical infrastructures with significant operational demands.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with architecture, infrastructure, and engineering teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Preferred: Experience in regulated environments, particularly in financial services.
• Familiarity with DevOps / DevSecOps practices.
• Experience serving as a SQL Cloud Technology SME.
• Microsoft certifications.
• Experience contributing to architectural decisions and non-functional design specifications.
• Exposure to initiatives aimed at modernizing legacy systems.
