Senior Database Administration Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Oversee, enhance, and safeguard enterprise data systems.

• Install, set up, and maintain Oracle, SQL Server, and various other database platforms (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).

• Conduct upgrades, patches, and migrations across different environments.

• Monitor database performance and implement optimization strategies.

• Establish and uphold database security policies, user access controls, and encryption protocols.

• Guarantee compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).

• Design and manage backup and recovery strategies.

• Execute disaster recovery planning and testing.

• Analyze query performance and enhance SQL code.

• Configure indexing, partitioning, and caching strategies.

• Collaborate closely with developers to create efficient schemas and queries.

• Provide production support and troubleshoot database-related issues.

• Document processes, standards, and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience as a DBA with Oracle and SQL Server.

• Strong understanding of relational database design, normalization, and indexing.

• Proficiency in SQL scripting, PL/SQL, and TSQL.

• Experience with database monitoring tools (OEM, SQL Profiler, etc.).

• Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud).

• Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) is preferred.

• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) is preferred.

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is preferred.

• Exceptional communication and documentation skills are essential.
