Lead Product Manager, Database Core

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead the design of product features for the core analytical database by conducting user research and competitive analysis, then translating findings into detailed, well-defined PRDs.

• Create user-friendly and intuitive interfaces for essential database functions, while continuously refining them in response to user needs and market developments.

• Collaborate closely with engineering, QA, and various cross-functional teams to manage the complete product lifecycle, from development through testing to delivery and launch.

• Maintain ownership of product quality during execution and influence the strategic roadmap for key database features.

• Monitor user feedback and adoption rates post-launch to facilitate continuous enhancement of core functionalities.

• Oversee the entire feature lifecycle to ensure capabilities adapt in alignment with user requirements and market demands.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in Product Management; experience with big data platforms or database products is highly desirable.

• Extensive, hands-on knowledge of database internals, including query engines, storage engines, OLAP/columnar systems, or distributed database architecture.

• Proficient in utilizing AI tools for product design and prototyping.

• Capable of analyzing technical systems and user workflows effectively.

• Experience collaborating with engineering teams in Agile/Scrum settings.

• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Practical experience with at least one of the following: StarRocks, ClickHouse, Presto, Druid, Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.

• Understanding of data warehouse modeling processes; DBA/operations experience is a plus.

• Previous experience at a DBaaS (Database-as-a-Service) or an infrastructure-focused startup.
