Senior Data Scientist – Portfolio

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Create solutions addressing business challenges related to portfolio optimization, recommendations, personalization, forecasting, segmentation, and insights discovery.

• Collaborate on intricate dataset analyses and develop as well as deploy sophisticated machine learning and deep learning algorithms.

• Guarantee that solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with business goals while mentoring junior and mid-level data scientists.

• Promote the adoption of advancements in machine learning and deep learning, including frontier algorithms.

• Design and enhance large-scale data processing workflows on Azure, Databricks, and Spark.

• Construct and implement dependable data pipelines and modeling workflows utilizing Python and PySpark.

• Introduce automation and reusable components to enhance team productivity and minimize operational overhead.

• Collaborate with data engineering, product management, and business stakeholders to convert business requirements into technical specifications.

• Deliver impactful, comprehensive solutions and spearhead rapid iterations and ongoing improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred; a PhD is a bonus.

• Proven success in applying machine learning and statistical modeling techniques in production settings to achieve measurable business outcomes.

• Capability to translate complex technical ideas into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience or strong familiarity with experimentation frameworks, model validation, and thorough evaluation, particularly in high-stakes decision-making systems.

• Documented ability to implement machine learning and statistical models in production, balancing accuracy, stability, explainability, and real-world constraints.

• Proficiency in Python for analysis, modeling, and production workflows; experience with distributed data processing technologies such as Spark/PySpark is advantageous.

• Familiarity with contemporary ML development practices, including version control, CI/CD, and reproducible research and modeling workflows.

• Strong capability in utilizing AI coding agents and developer tools in a controlled, thoughtful, and production-focused manner.

• An innovative, curious, and independent thinker who questions assumptions and proposes unique approaches.

• Excellent communication skills for articulating complex models and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
