Senior Data Scientist – Cybersecurity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Construct, curate, sanitize, and uphold datasets tailored for NLP and AI security applications.

• Create and enhance synthetic datasets utilizing LLMs.

• Train, fine-tune, and assess NLP and transformer-based models aimed at real-time risk detection and classification.

• Develop and refine custom classifiers and Named Entity Recognition (NER) models.

• Design evaluation pipelines and benchmarks to assess model quality, accuracy, false positives, and overall performance.

• Experiment with various modeling strategies and consistently enhance models as new use cases and AI threats arise.

• Optimize models and inference workflows for deployment in production environments.

• Collaborate with engineering and AI teams to transition models from research to production.

• Analyze model performance and datasets to pinpoint gaps, edge cases, and opportunities for improvement.

• Contribute to practical AI/ML workflows, documentation, and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or a closely related position.

• Extensive hands-on experience with NLP, transformer-based models, and contemporary language-model architectures.

• Proficient programming skills in Python.

• Familiarity with machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent.

• Experience with Hugging Face and scikit-learn.

• Practical experience in training, fine-tuning, or adapting machine learning models for real-world applications.

• Knowledge in NER, tokenization, text classification, or other NLP methodologies.

• Strong skills in data preparation and analysis using Pandas or comparable tools.

• Experience in designing model evaluations, benchmarks, and experiments.

• Understanding of model performance and inference optimization strategies.

• Familiarity with AI security concepts such as prompt injection, sensitive data/PII exposure, adversarial inputs, and data privacy.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently on ambiguous machine learning challenges.

• Must currently reside in Latin America.
