Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Lead and design research initiatives for new GenAI agents and LLMs, defining the technical direction for the team.

• Foster innovation in LLM applications, encompassing reasoning, summarization, and interactive features.

• Make strategic choices regarding GenAI model architectures, training methodologies, and deployment tactics.

• Mentor and guide Data Scientists while promoting engineering excellence within the team.

• Spearhead cross-functional projects and partner with senior leadership to ensure alignment of technical strategy with business objectives.

• Showcase CrowdStrike's technical prowess through publications, speaking opportunities, and thought leadership initiatives.

• Set best practices, technical standards, and evaluation frameworks for the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of hands-on machine learning/research experience, showcasing leadership in creating production-ready models.

• Extensive expertise in LLM training and deployment at scale.

• Strong background in technical leadership, including mentoring teams and shaping technical strategies.

• Advanced proficiency in Python, Deep Learning frameworks, and cloud technologies.

• In-depth knowledge of GPU technologies and optimization methods.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders effectively.

• Proven track record of addressing complex technical challenges on a large scale.

• Demonstrated experience in leveraging AI technologies to improve decision-making, streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and drive positive business outcomes.

• An advanced degree (PhD or Masters) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is an advantage.

• Patents or notable contributions to intellectual property in AI are a plus.

• A strong research portfolio, including publications in esteemed AI journals and conferences, is beneficial.

• Experience in applying machine learning within cybersecurity contexts is a bonus.

• A history of successful transitions from research to production implementations at scale is advantageous.

• Contributions to open-source ML projects are considered a plus.
