This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the comprehensive design, setup, and ongoing enhancement of the VHA AI Education Hub platform.
• Create, configure, and sustain the AI learning assistant along with the sandbox environment.
• Utilize supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning methodologies on healthcare-related data models.
• Work with synthetic data models and patient cohorts while ensuring the protection of Veteran data privacy.
• Design and manage integrations with VA learning management systems, intranet platforms, and enterprise data ecosystems.
• Develop, analyze, and validate healthcare-specific data models in cloud-based analytical settings.
• Implement best practices for data quality, lineage, and governance.
• Collaborate with VA stakeholders, contracting officers, and cross-functional technical teams.
• Convert program requirements into actionable data science outputs.
• Create technical documentation.
• Present insights and platform performance metrics to government leadership.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or a related quantitative field.
• A Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• Experience in applying machine learning techniques within complex, data-intensive environments.
• Previous experience supporting federal government agencies or large healthcare organizations.
• Familiarity with federal IT policies, data governance frameworks, and health data standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a VA Position of Public Trust clearance (Tier 2 / MBI).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; this role does not provide visa sponsorship.
• Practical experience with cloud-based analytical platforms like AWS GovCloud or Microsoft Azure Government.
• Experience in deploying machine learning models, managing synthetic data environments, and setting up platform integrations in secured, policy-governed cloud environments.
• Proficiency in supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning techniques.
• Ability to work with healthcare data models, synthetic data, patient cohorts, data quality, data lineage, and data governance.
