This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.
• Convert roadmap objectives and product specifications into epics that are appropriately sized for sprint planning in Data Science and Platform Engineering.
• Independently create epics and collaborate with technical leads for refinement prior to board submission.
• Take ownership of the epic structure, acceptance criteria, sequencing, and dependencies, while delegating implementation specifics to technical leads.
• Ensure that epics meet a Ready-to-Execute standard.
• Monitor ongoing tasks across DP&A, DS, and PE boards, providing transparency into active, blocked, or at-risk work.
• Recognize sequencing conflicts and inter-team dependencies before they escalate into sprint obstacles.
• Manage the Jira process and sprint rhythm for the Data Products & Analytics team.
• Lead planning, review, and retrospective ceremonies as focused decision-making sessions.
• Oversee the backlog to ensure that Jira accurately reflects the team's priorities.
• Establish epic and process quality standards across Data Products & Analytics without direct reporting authority.
• Sequence tasks and highlight inter-team dependencies and program risks.
• Report directly to the Senior Director of Data Products & Analytics.
• Collaborate with leadership in Data Products, Platform Engineering leads, Data Science/ML leads, Jira tooling vendors, and any external engineering and development teams as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Over 7 years of experience in program or project management within a data or software delivery environment.
• Extensive hands-on ownership; experience in people management is not required.
• In-depth knowledge of program management, particularly regarding epic usability.
• Sufficient technical knowledge to draft epics that senior engineers can utilize.
• Cross-functional collaboration skills across teams without direct authority.
• Proficient in Jira as a process designer, including board layout, epic standards, and backlog administration.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Capability to influence others without formal authority and maintain quality standards.
• Agile/Scrum or PMP certification is advantageous.
• Experience in designing processes across multiple teams is preferred.
• Familiarity with data, analytics, or ML delivery environments is a plus.
• Ability to fulfill relevant gaming, licensing, background investigation, security checks, legal, regulatory, or contractual requirements.
