This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess Elm's existing data landscape comprehensively.
• Create a prioritized roadmap for data product development.
• Stay informed about the future trends in the real estate data sector.
• Take charge of the design and implementation of innovative customer-facing data products.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and data teams.
• Work in partnership with engineering, data infrastructure, design, sales, and customer success teams.
• Establish a consistent rhythm for data product delivery.
• Cultivate and sustain deep expertise in MLS data.
• Build and nurture relationships with MLS organizations and technology partners.
• Identify areas for enhancement in how Elm processes and manages data internally.
• Ensure that data quality, lineage, and governance are integral to the platform.
• Apply a product-oriented approach to operational challenges.
• Over 7 years of product management experience, with at least 5 years concentrating on data products, data platforms, or data-intensive applications.
• Profound, hands-on understanding of MLS data: IDX, RETS, and RESO standards, compliance requirements, data licensing, display rules, and the flow of listing data through the real estate ecosystem.
• Demonstrated success in developing data products from the ground up, not merely enhancing existing features, but creating entirely new products that deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Comfortable collaborating with data engineers on schema design, data modeling, and pipeline architecture decisions.
• Strong strategic thinking abilities combined with a focus on execution.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working cross-functionally in a rapidly growing environment where alignment hinges on relationship-building rather than authority.
• Preference for candidates who have served as the first or foundational data product hire at a company.
• Familiarity with the application of AI and machine learning in data products is preferred.
• Experience with external data partners is preferred.
• Background in real estate, prop-tech, or related industries is preferred.
