This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Act as the primary point of contact for production data incidents, swiftly diagnosing root causes, implementing solutions, and ensuring the integrity of data.
• Design, implement, and maintain systems for monitoring, logging, and alerting related to all production data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Manage, deploy, and sustain data and integration pipelines as well as APIs.
• Proactively identify and implement enhancements to boost the speed, scalability, and efficiency of data processing tasks and API performance.
• Develop and enforce data validation and quality checks within pipelines to reduce errors and inconsistencies in production data.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to manage the infrastructure (AWS components) that supports the data platform.
• Keep comprehensive and current documentation for all operational procedures, pipeline architectures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Relay incident statuses and SLA reports to management.
• Develop and deploy data pipelines, backend ingestion, or integration tasks to support minor enhancements and bug fixes.
• Work with data from various sources, including but not limited to: CRM data, Product data, Marketing data, Order flow data, Support ticket volume data, Finance data, etc.

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, data science, information technology, or a related engineering field.
• Over 5 years of experience in a Data Engineering, Data Operations, or SRE role supporting production data environments and user support for data-related issues.
• Proficient in SQL for data analysis tasks.
• Experience with Python or similar scripting languages.
• Familiarity with ETL tools such as Fivetran, DBT, Workato, or their equivalents.
• Exposure to Python-based API frameworks and API management tools.
• RDBMS experience with MySQL, AWS RDS/Aurora MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or equivalent systems.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Knowledge of data warehouses like Databricks, Google Big Query, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or similar.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes, DevOps tools, and best practices.
