Senior Data MDM Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Architectural Assessment & Validation: Evaluate and confirm the existing multi-platform data architecture and master data management (MDM) strategy, pinpointing technical debt, integration gaps, and risks to data integrity across Salesforce, NetSuite, and other interconnected systems.

• MDM Architecture Design: Specify and implement the master data management architecture, establishing the "golden source of truth" for essential entities — counterparties, products, contacts, and financial instruments — across all five primary platforms.

• Data Governance Strategy: Create and enforce enterprise-level data governance policies that encompass data ownership, lineage, access controls, and stewardship to ensure uniform data integrity throughout the ecosystem.

• Entity Mapping & STP Coordination: Direct the mapping of intricate counterparty and product data entities to facilitate seamless straight-through processing (STP) across trading and ERP workflows.

• Integration Pattern Development: Design robust, scalable integration patterns for the Azure-based middleware layer to manage master data synchronization without duplication or data drift among connected platforms.

• Technical Exploration Collaboration: Work closely with US-based technical leads during the Discovery phase to uncover architectural risks, validate existing data flows, and outline the roadmap for remediation.

• MDM Solution Evaluation: Assess and recommend "out-of-the-box" versus "custom-built" MDM solutions through a structured SWOT analysis, considering cost, scalability, and time-to-value.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Convert complex architectural choices into straightforward, actionable guidance for both technical teams and executive stakeholders (CTO, CPTO), fostering alignment between business and engineering.

• Long-Term Data Strategy: Formulate a strategic plan for data lineage, access controls, and the transition toward modern Data Fabric solutions — including a forward-thinking approach for unstructured data and AI-enhanced architectures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient English communication skills (C1 or higher), with a proven ability to lead strategic discussions and present ideas to US-based executive and technical leadership.

• Extensive experience in Data Architecture and MDM strategy, with a history of delivering comprehensive end-to-end data architectures in enterprise settings.

• Demonstrated expertise in designing data governance frameworks within complex, regulated environments such as financial services, commodity trading, or ESG/energy markets.

• Proven capability to operate in an embedded, autonomous role — proactively engaging with stakeholders, driving architectural decisions, and achieving results without the need for a dedicated team.

• Experience with Azure-based data architectures and middleware integration patterns (e.g., Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, or equivalent technologies).

• Strong communication and influencing abilities, with the capacity to constructively challenge client assumptions and advocate for sound architectural decisions at the executive level.
