Senior Data Governance Analyst – Azure Purview, Data Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee the implementation of Azure Purview solutions.

• Architect and deliver comprehensive Microsoft Purview solutions within enterprise environments.

• Design and set up Data Map, scanning strategies, metadata ingestion, and classification frameworks.

• Create scalable patterns for cataloging, discovery, and governance automation.

• Define the Data Governance Strategy.

• Design and execute enterprise data governance operating models.

• Develop and integrate data pipelines utilizing Azure Data Factory (ADF), dbt, Databricks, and Alteryx.

• Create Python-based solutions for workflow automation, API integrations, and data operations.

• Collaborate with analytics teams to establish semantic layers and business logic in dbt.

• Ensure that governance is integrated within data pipelines.

• Perform governance maturity assessments and create transformation roadmaps.

• Document data pipelines, models, and governance policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data, analytics, engineering, or data governance roles.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview.

• Demonstrated experience in leading data governance implementations or programs.

• Strong knowledge of data cataloging, lineage, and metadata management.

• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and operating models.

• Experience in client-facing or consulting roles.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft Purview (Data Map, scanning, classification, lineage).

• Strong expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF).

• Knowledge of Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).

• Experience with Snowflake.

• Proficient in Databricks / Unity Catalog.

• Experience with dbt for transformations and modeling.

• Strong SQL skills.

• Working knowledge of Python for automation and data engineering.

• Experience in building and optimizing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.

• Experience in designing data stewardship models.

• Familiarity with business glossaries.

• Knowledge of governance policies and standards.

• Excellent communication and workshop facilitation skills.
