Senior Data Engineer – Mid Shift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Construct, maintain, and enhance production-level data pipelines for the ingestion, transformation, and delivery of data utilizing AWS and Snowflake.

• Execute Change Data Capture pipelines and oversee schema evolution across application databases and external data sources.

• Create and sustain workflow orchestration with provisions for error handling, retries, monitoring, alerting, and operational documentation.

• Establish automated data quality checks and controls.

• Design and uphold bronze, silver, and gold medallion architecture layers.

• Enhance data storage, partitioning, query performance, and cloud resource utilization across AWS and Snowflake.

• Develop and maintain secure, versioned APIs and data feeds for both internal and external users.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, utilizing Terraform for infrastructure as code, along with environment management.

• Assist in the development of data catalogs, including lineage, access controls, ownership, and business glossaries.

• Work collaboratively with the Data Architect and stakeholders to implement platform standards and cater to data consumption needs.

• Keep technical documentation, data flow records, and operational runbooks up to date.

• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to enhance productivity, code quality, and delivery efficiency while safeguarding sensitive information.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Generally, five or more years of experience in data engineering or proven experience in delivering dependable, production-grade cloud data solutions.

• Strong expertise in Python and SQL for data engineering and transformation tasks.

• Practical experience with AWS services, especially S3, DMS, Lambda, and Step Functions.

• Hands-on familiarity with Snowflake, covering SQL, Python, Tasks, role-based access control, data cataloging, and data quality management.

• Experience in implementing CDC pipelines and managing schema changes.

• Background in developing automated data quality checks and controls.

• Understanding of medallion architecture and dimensional data modeling.

• Knowledge of API development and secure data delivery utilizing API Gateway, Lambda, and REST APIs.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, Terraform, Git, and CloudWatch.

• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools, with the capability to validate generated outputs and protect sensitive data.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering reliable, scalable data solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly asynchronously and collaborate effectively within a distributed team.

• In-depth understanding of data privacy, security, and governance, especially within a financial services context.

• Preferred: Experience in financial services or investment management, particularly involving asset management, fund, or investment data.

• Preferred: Previous experience working within a remote or distributed team environment.

• Preferred: Experience with analytical or AI-assisted solutions within Snowflake.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Salesforce, eVestment, FactSet, Preqin, Windows, and Linux.
