• We are looking for a Senior Graph Data Engineer to take part in a strategic initiative focused on assessing and benchmarking enterprise-scale knowledge graph technologies. This position merges practical data engineering, graph database implementation, performance testing, and technical analysis to identify the optimal technology stack for large-scale graph-based workloads.

• The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about data platforms, graph technologies, performance optimization, and making evidence-driven engineering decisions. You will collaborate closely with engineering and architecture leaders to evaluate multiple graph database platforms and deliver technical recommendations based on measurable results and enterprise needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Main Responsibilities

• - Design and implement evaluations and benchmarking initiatives for large-scale graph databases.

• - Extract, transform, and load data from Databricks into various graph database platforms.

• - Construct and sustain graph structures, entity relationships, and linkages that mirror production-grade data models.

• - Execute benchmark workloads utilizing graph query languages such as Cypher, GSQL, openCypher, nGQL, or AQL.

• - Create PostgreSQL baseline implementations using recursive CTEs and advanced querying techniques.

• - Design and develop APIs to assess real-world query performance and scalability.

• - Analyze execution plans, indexing strategies, and opportunities for query optimization.

• - Continuously provision, configure, and dismantle database environments for controlled testing.

• - Document findings, benchmark outcomes, technical trade-offs, and recommendations.

• - Collaborate with architects, data engineers, and technical leadership throughout the evaluation process.

• - Engage in architecture discussions and contribute to strategic technology decisions.

• Desired Profile Experience

• - 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Database Engineering, or Data Platform development.

• - 3+ years of experience with enterprise-scale data platforms.

• - Demonstrated experience in designing and conducting technology evaluations and performance benchmarks.

• - Experience with distributed systems and large-scale data environments.

• Required Technical Skills

• - Strong expertise in Databricks.

• - Advanced skills in SQL and PostgreSQL.

• - In-depth knowledge of:

• - Recursive CTEs

• - Query optimization

• - Query plan analysis

• - Indexing strategies

• - Materialized views

• - Practical experience with at least two graph database technologies, preferably:

• - Neo4j

• - TigerGraph

• - Nebula Graph

• - ArangoDB

• - Memgraph

• - Strong knowledge of Cypher.

• - Experience in building APIs for data access and performance testing.

• - Background in ETL/ELT development.

• - Familiarity with Git and version control best practices.

• Nice to Have

• - Experience with AWS-native database deployments.

• - Familiarity with Kubernetes for database workloads.

• - Knowledge Graph architecture experience.

• - Understanding of KYC / AML domain.

• - Data modeling skills for highly connected datasets.

• - Experience comparing graph databases with relational database solutions.
