Senior Data Engineer – GCP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and sustain scalable data pipelines primarily utilizing Google Cloud Platform.

• Create integration and transformation workflows between cloud data services and on-premises Oracle databases.

• Collaborate closely with trading, risk, and analytics teams to grasp data requirements and deliver both real-time and batch data solutions.

• Enhance and monitor the performance of data systems to support latency-sensitive trading applications.

• Work with cross-functional teams employing Agile/Scrum methodologies to execute business-critical data projects and offer technical support to the team.

• Ensure strong data governance, lineage, and compliance with regulations such as MiFID II, FCA, and other relevant standards.

• Automate data workflows using Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and handling complex stored procedures and large datasets.

• Competence in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.

• Familiarity with streaming and messaging systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform, for managing cloud data infrastructure.

• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT design patterns.

• Proven leadership experience in a team environment.

• Understanding of Agile development practices (Scrum, Kanban, Jira).

• Experience in financial markets, trading systems, or similar high-performance environments is highly advantageous.

• GCP certification (e.g., Professional Data Engineer or equivalent) is regarded as a significant benefit.

• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Knowledge of regulatory reporting, market data, or trade surveillance systems.

• Experience with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools.

• Awareness of data security practices and compliance frameworks.
