Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Invest in our "Data Foundation" domain to transform into a data-centric organization.

• Furnish our business with essential insights regarding our customers, performance metrics, and predictive analytics.

• Oversee the development of the future enterprise Data Lake for Unifonic.

• Create comprehensive data-related capabilities, spanning from data ingestion to reporting.

• Assist in establishing industry-leading practices for the data engineering team.

• Develop the necessary capabilities to enhance the organization’s data-driven approach.

• Advance our data architecture by identifying structural needs.

• Design and implement solutions.

• Test and maintain databases to guarantee their durability and overall efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering and Big Data.

• Demonstrated experience in ETL Development or related fields.

• Advanced knowledge of Database Engines, Data Lakes, data practices, and relevant policies.

• Profound understanding of database structure principles, integration, ETL, ELT, data processing, and data management.

• Expertise in Data Warehouse and Data Lake technologies.

• Familiarity with tools such as Vertica, Greenplum, Cloudera framework/ecosystems, Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, Apache Spark, Impala, etc.

• Practical experience with programming languages, including Python, Java, Scala, and SQL.

• Proven ability to assemble large, complex datasets that satisfy functional and non-functional business requirements.

• Experience in constructing the infrastructure necessary for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse technology sources.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

• Strong analytical skills and exceptional organizational abilities.
