Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• You will design and take ownership of the architecture for our comprehensive data platform — encompassing data integration, transformation, and delivery.

• You will spearhead the creation of resilient data pipelines utilizing Fivetran, Airbyte, and Python, establishing technical benchmarks for the team.

• You will enhance data modeling in Databricks and implement advanced SQL, dbt, and data-quality frameworks such as Elementary.

• You will set and uphold standards for data quality, ensuring dependable data marts that underpin essential business decisions.

• You will offer technical guidance and collaborate closely with the Product Owner and the Business Insights team to tackle complex data challenges.

• You will oversee the continuous development of our cloud infrastructure on AWS and further Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

⛳️ Requirements

• A number of years experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in a cloud-native environment.

• Proficient in SQL, Python, dbt, and Git, with a background in building and managing production-ready data pipelines.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (ideally AWS) and tools such as Databricks, Fivetran, or Airbyte.

• Comprehensive knowledge of data modeling, data warehouse architectures, and best practices for ensuring data quality.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect engineering and business stakeholders effectively.
