Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +24 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop new data models, encompassing both Fact and Dimension models.

• Create efficient and idempotent transformations within Snowflake.

• Construct data pipelines utilizing modular Python scripts.

• Produce well-tested, production-ready code in Python and Snowflake SQL.

• Apply ETL/ELT best practices effectively.

• Convert business requirements into technical specifications, outline project scope, and deliver deployable code.

• Write intricate Snowflake SQL jobs and advanced queries across datasets.

• Document systems for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Oversee and troubleshoot data pipelines operating on Airflow.

• Engage in code review sessions.

• Guide data engineers on best practices and coding standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in constructing data models (Fact versus Dimension).

• Demonstrated proficiency in crafting efficient and idempotent transformations in Snowflake.

• Skilled in building data pipelines using Python scripts in a modular or loop context.

• Competence in production-ready Python and Snowflake SQL coding.

• Hands-on experience in implementing ETL or ELT best practices.

• Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications, define project scope, and deliver deployable code.

• Experience in writing complex Snowflake SQL jobs and sophisticated queries across comprehensive datasets.

• Familiarity with documenting systems for both internal and external audiences.

• Experience in monitoring and debugging Airflow data pipelines.

• Participation in code review processes is essential.

• Experience in mentoring data engineers on coding standards and best practices.

• Capability to work 40 hours per week.

• Must reside in an eligible U.S. location and possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
