Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Macedonia, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop robust, production-scale data pipelines and real-time data streams.

• Design and implement scalable, cloud-compatible applications.

• Oversee technical projects during the architecture, design, and implementation stages.

• Collaborate with clients to comprehend their business and technical requirements, assess potential solutions, and outline high-level implementation strategies and estimates.

• Work alongside Machine Learning, Data Science, Design, Software Engineering, and Business teams to address data or ETL challenges.

• Create tests and health checks to ensure code and data integrity.

• Monitor and evaluate data traversing various systems by integrating suitable visualizations and dashboards.

• Participate in internal engineering projects, identify areas for enhancement, assess solutions, and facilitate implementation.

• Provide clients with updates and strategic guidance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Python and SQL.

• Background in ETL design, execution, and maintenance.

• Experience with AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure in delivering data-centric product experiences.

• Minimum of 5 years in a related position.

• Familiarity with both in-memory and disk-based databases, relational and non-relational databases, full-text search engines, and database design, development, and maintenance.

• Proficient with MySQL, MongoDB, OpenSearch, and DynamoDB; additional experience with graph databases like Neo4j is a plus.

• Knowledge of data warehousing and multidimensional data models (columnar data modeling).

• Practical understanding of Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and massive parallel processing.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity and incomplete specifications.

• Excellent command of English for meetings, client calls, and business correspondence.
