Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and manage secure, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that process both structured and unstructured data from various sources.

• Construct and enhance data models and processing workflows to fulfill BI, analytics, and reporting requirements.

• Develop monitoring and alerting mechanisms to ensure optimal pipeline performance and uphold data quality.

• Create dashboards, reports, and datasets using Domo.

• Integrate data from external APIs and third-party systems, including Salesforce.

• Work collaboratively with Software Engineering, Architecture, Product, Analytics, and IT teams.

• Convert business requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Conduct code reviews and offer constructive feedback to fellow engineering team members.

• Mentor junior data engineers and assist with onboarding processes.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies such as standups, retrospectives, and planning sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing and maintaining ELT/ETL systems.

• Strong expertise in SQL, including advanced queries, data modeling, stored procedures, and query optimization.

• Practical experience with Snowflake or BigQuery.

• Proficiency in Python programming.

• Familiarity with AWS cloud-native services: Kinesis, Lambda, S3, SQS, and CDK.

• Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines from a variety of sources.

• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and debugging abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Comfortable working in a dynamic, Agile environment.

• Nice to have: experience in creating datasets, dataflows, and dashboards in Domo.

• Nice to have: experience with building integrations using SaaS APIs like Salesforce.

• Nice to have: AWS Data Analytics Certification or Snowflake Data Engineering Certification.

• Nice to have: familiarity with MongoDB or DynamoDB.
