Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that process both structured and unstructured data from various sources.

• Construct and enhance data models and processing workflows to meet BI, analytics, and reporting requirements.

• Create monitoring and alerting mechanisms to ensure the performance of pipelines and maintain data quality.

• Develop dashboards, reports, and datasets within Domo.

• Integrate data from external APIs and third-party platforms such as Salesforce.

• Collaborate with teams in Software Engineering, Architecture, Product, Analytics, and IT.

• Convert business needs into effective technical solutions.

• Conduct code reviews and offer constructive feedback to members of the engineering team.

• Guide other data engineers and assist in onboarding processes.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies, including standups, retrospectives, and planning sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing and maintaining ELT/ETL systems.

• Strong command of SQL, encompassing advanced queries, data modeling, stored procedures, and query optimization.

• Practical experience with Snowflake or BigQuery.

• Proficiency in Python programming.

• Familiarity with AWS cloud-native services, such as Kinesis, Lambda, S3, SQS, and CDK.

• Experience in constructing and maintaining data pipelines from various sources.

• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and debugging abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Comfortable operating in a dynamic, Agile environment.

• Nice to have: experience in creating datasets, dataflows, and dashboards using Domo.

• Nice to have: experience in building integrations with SaaS APIs like Salesforce.

• Nice to have: AWS Data Analytics Certification or Snowflake Data Engineering Certification.

• Nice to have: experience with MongoDB or DynamoDB.
