Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with extensive volumes of traffic data and user behavior to establish pipelines that enhance the quality of raw data.

• Deconstruct intricate data challenges and proficiently convey practical solutions.

• Identify patterns within large datasets and convert data into actionable insights.

• Employ tools such as Jupyter, SQL, dashboards, statistical analysis, and data visualizations to investigate datasets and address business inquiries.

• Partner with internal product and business intelligence teams to determine the best data ingestion, structuring, and storage methods.

• Work alongside technology field partners to guarantee the reliable execution of data solutions.

• Offer innovative suggestions for data improvement and collaborate with engineering, BI teams, and business units to implement necessary changes.

• Oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring the successful deployment of data solutions.

• Contribute to the advancement of team technology and best practices.

• Mentor junior team members on best practices and methodologies related to data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with over 4 years of professional experience, or a graduate degree in a STEM field with 2+ years of post-graduation experience in Analytics/Measurement/Data Operations or consulting roles that focus on digital analytics implementations.

• Familiarity with both relational and NoSQL data management systems (e.g., BigTable, HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB).

• Strong skills in Python and SQL.

• Experience in exploratory data analysis using tools such as iPython Notebook, Pandas, and matplotlib.

• Proven ability to develop ongoing technical solutions while maintaining documentation and training for affected teams.

• Experience in formulating solutions to business needs through hands-on data discovery and exploration.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and vice versa.

• Experience in building and deploying applications on a cloud platform (preferably Google Cloud Platform).

• Ability to influence and implement data standards, policies, and procedures.
