Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Develop, expand, and sustain comprehensive data solutions.

• Design and refine high-performance data pipelines for extraction, loading, transformation, and orchestration, focusing on scalability, reliability, maintainability, and speed.

• Advocate for contemporary software engineering methodologies such as CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and cloud-native deployments.

• Work closely with business stakeholders to convert use cases into production-ready services and solutions, taking ownership of the system from inception to deployment.

• Establish stringent testing and monitoring protocols to uphold exceptional data quality and integrity.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM discipline is required.

• A focus in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or another engineering-related field is preferred.

• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related area, showcasing a proven success record.

• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with a solid foundation in data manipulation and analysis.

• Skilled in using Databricks/PySpark and dbt for data warehousing and transformation tasks.

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.

• Experience with large language models (LLMs), particularly in prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and/or vector databases is advantageous.

• Understanding of basic principles of machine learning, feature engineering, and knowledge graphs is a plus.

• Proven capability in designing and implementing intricate data systems from the ground up.

• Experience managing large-scale data projects, including data cleaning, ETL, and information retrieval.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
