This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Establish and manage integrations from source systems, including shop and marketplace data, marketing and advertising platforms, as well as ERP, logistics, and finance systems.
• Create dependable data pipelines that include early and traceable error detection.
• Ensure the availability and freshness of the company’s data.
• Design and enhance the data warehouse utilizing Google BigQuery.
• Construct and maintain transformation models, incorporating tests and documentation.
• Guarantee well-defined KPIs and dependable data.
• Oversee the authorization model within Google Cloud.
• Supervise third-party system interfaces, ensuring the security of pipelines and credentials.
• Evaluate third-party applications for security vulnerabilities in code and establish binding standards.
• Enhance versioning, code reviews, automated testing, and deployments.
• Automate processes that were previously manual.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary Data & AI team along with the business units in E-commerce, Marketing, and Finance.
• At least 3–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar position.
• Proficient in creating production-ready data pipelines and data models.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud and Google BigQuery, with an understanding of query cost implications.
• Advanced skills in SQL, including the ability to perform root-cause analysis for slow queries.
• Capable of writing clean and maintainable Python code for data pipelines.
• Experience in structured data modeling, versioning, automated testing, and deployments.
• A security-focused approach to access rights, credentials, interface monitoring, and security evaluations for third-party applications.
• Familiarity with popular e-commerce and marketing tools such as Shopify or Klaviyo.
• A pragmatic, hands-on generalist mindset that transcends role boundaries.
• Experience in startup or scale-up environments.
• Ability to connect business and technical teams effectively.
• An affinity for utilizing AI tools such as Claude for development, documentation, and analysis.
• Fluent in German.
• Proficient in English.
• 100% remote work within Germany.
