Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement robust data pipelines utilizing Python and Airflow.

• Convert an existing Data Science proof of concept into a dependable, maintainable production solution.

• Construct and uphold data processing workflows, which include scheduling, retries, validations, and regression checks.

• Design efficient PostgreSQL schemas, queries, views, and data access strategies.

• Create the data access layer using GraphQL and, eventually, Hasura.

• Work alongside Data Scientists to integrate and operationalize NLP/LLM-based components.

• Ensure dependable and consistent data delivery on a regular schedule.

• Operate with AWS-based infrastructure, services, orchestration, storage, and connectivity.

• Partner with SRE and Engineering teams on deployment and production-related requirements.

• Take charge of technical decisions and independently manage work from requirements to production.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience in Data Engineering.

• Advanced skills in Python, particularly for data pipelines and processing.

• Practical experience with Apache Airflow in production settings.

• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL and relational database principles.

• Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS.

• Basic DevOps knowledge and comprehension of infrastructure, deployment, and connectivity concepts.

• Familiarity with GraphQL, or a solid foundation to quickly learn.

• Ability to work independently, make technical choices, and take responsibility for solutions.

• Comfortable collaborating with Data Scientists and cross-functional technical teams.

• Awareness of AI-assisted coding tools and a willingness to incorporate them into the development process.

• English proficiency at B2 level or above, with effective communication skills in an international team setting.

• Experience with Hasura, cybersecurity data, or data-as-a-product environments is a plus.
