This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Pipeline Development: Create and manage scalable end-to-end data pipelines for both real-time and batch processing.
• ETL Process Management: Design and sustain reliable ETL processes using dbt to ensure accurate data transformation and modeling.
• Multi-Cloud Engineering: Utilize expertise across various cloud platforms to establish resilient data ecosystems, employing AWS (S3 and core services), GCP (BigQuery and Google Cloud Storage), or Azure (Databricks).
• Automation & Orchestration: Apply extensive knowledge of Apache Airflow for scheduling, orchestrating, and monitoring workflows. Develop software services and automate processes leveraging strong Python development skills.
• Advanced Data Modeling: Implement appropriate methodologies (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault) to design Star Schemas, Semantic Models, and highly optimized platforms.
• Senior-Level Expertise: You possess at least 5 years of experience as a data engineer, demonstrating a successful track record of end-to-end project delivery in dynamic environments.
• Collaborative Spirit: You are professionally fluent in English, excel in collaboration between developers and leadership, and possess the capability to mentor others.
• Commitment to Best Practices: You have a solid grasp of engineering and architectural principles, and you are comfortable collaborating on CI/CD workflows and utilizing version control (Git).
• Cloud & Infrastructure Experience: Hands-on expertise with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Data Platform Proficiency: Significant experience with contemporary data platforms such as Databricks and Spark.
• Orchestration & Streaming Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Apache Airflow or similar tools, along with familiarity with event-driven or streaming technologies like Kafka, and experience with Docker and Kubernetes for orchestration.
• Programming Skills: Strong coding abilities in Python, paired with advanced SQL skills for managing large-scale datasets.
• Modeling & Architecture Expertise: Highly skilled in dimensional modeling (Kimball) and in constructing robust OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) systems.
• Familiarity with Search Tools (preferable).
