Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and develop sophisticated reusable and automated frameworks for large-scale data processing and analytics.

• Design holistic data solutions that incorporate Azure services, AI functionalities, and cloud technologies.

• Guide intricate technical problem-solving, root cause analysis, and strategic decision-making related to critical data systems.

• Provide mentorship to junior and intermediate data engineers on advanced topics, best practices, and emerging technologies.

• Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders to shape business requirements and ensure technical solutions align with enterprise goals.

• Create AI-driven solutions and automation frameworks that yield measurable business results.

• Promote data engineering best practices, standards, and innovation throughout the organization by demonstrating thought leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.

• 5–8 years of experience in data engineering with a solid history of technical leadership and delivering enterprise-scale solutions.

• Proficient in Python programming, including inheritance, reflection, meta-programming, and advanced design patterns.

• Extensive knowledge of Azure data services, such as Databricks, Azure Functions, and Event Hubs.

• Advanced skills in relational database design, star schema modeling, and data warehousing principles.

• Proven track record in executing AI-powered solutions and automation frameworks at an enterprise level.

• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and shape technical strategies with measurable outcomes.

• Expert understanding of Apache Spark, PySpark, Kafka, and distributed computing concepts.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and comprehensive data solution development.

• Strong skills in system design and architecture for complex, cross-functional data platforms.

• History of driving process enhancements and technical innovation in enterprise settings.

• Advanced data visualization and storytelling abilities for building consensus among stakeholders.

• Experience in leading strategic data engineering projects that influence organizational direction.
