Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Work alongside business users to identify, assess, and document business requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Design, develop, and maintain data integration and automation using tools such as Power BI, Azure Databricks, Power Automate, and SmartSheets.

• Gather and transform data from various sources into a structured format suitable for analysis.

• Create and uphold data models and datasets to ensure efficient and accurate reporting.

• Develop Power BI dataflows and shared semantic models to unify data model definitions.

• Maintain data accuracy, integrity, and consistency within business intelligence solutions.

• Offer training and support to Power BI developers to enhance data models in Power BI according to their development requirements.

• Collaborate with IT teams to guarantee data security, integrity, and adherence to data governance policies.

• Keep abreast of the latest trends in business intelligence and analytics tools, techniques, and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable role.

• Strong expertise in Power BI, particularly in modeling, row-level security, and complex DAX formulations.

• Proficient in Power Query, including the ability to write M-code.

• Solid understanding and practical experience in data modeling, including relational models (ERD), star/snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions, and referential integrity.

• Proficient in SQL and other data manipulation languages.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the skill to interpret complex datasets.

• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks efficiently, and meet deadlines.
