This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish and uphold data governance standards, which encompass access controls, data lineage, and agreements between data producers and consumers.
• Guide the technical trajectory and advancement of our data platform as we transition towards an AI-centric data infrastructure. You will design it for AI utilization, unstructured data accessibility, and integration with AI tools from the foundation up.
• Construct and enhance data pipelines and architectures that ensure data is accessible and valuable to both human analysts and AI systems.
• Take full ownership of the design and development of scalable data pipelines, covering everything from ingestion and orchestration to transformation and delivery, using tools such as AWS, Terraform, Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, Meltano, and Python.
• Enhance data platform reliability through performance optimization, monitoring data quality, and prioritizing our most critical data assets based on service level agreements (SLAs).
• Utilize and advocate for AI-assisted development tools, like Claude Code, to boost development speed across the team.
• Mentor data engineers and analysts, elevating the technical standards within the team.
• Over 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong emphasis on developing production data pipelines and data infrastructure.
• Extensive experience with AWS data services in a production environment, which includes storage, compute, and pipeline tools.
• Practical knowledge of managing cloud data warehouse technologies, such as Snowflake or similar, focusing on access control, performance optimization, and cost management.
• Strong Python proficiency, with the capability to independently manage and enhance complex production data pipelines.
• Experience with large-scale workflow orchestration, including tools like Airflow or others.
• Understanding of data governance, observability, and data quality methodologies.
• Familiarity with event sourcing or change data capture data patterns.
• A keen interest in utilizing AI tools and workflow automation to boost team effectiveness.
