Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage FSM's AWS infrastructure, including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, RDS, Cognito, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.

• Take ownership of infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation), CI/CD (GitHub Actions), and our multi-tenant security model, which encompasses IAM roles, tenant isolation, secrets management, and auditability.

• Uphold FSM's security and compliance standards by implementing least-privilege IAM, managing secrets, and maintaining ongoing SOC 2 / Vanta controls, checks, and audit readiness.

• Construct and sustain data pipelines along with an S3-based data platform that supports our agents and business intelligence (DBT, AWS QuickSight).

• Design and develop intelligent agents that interact with financial data via APIs and natural-language interfaces, integrating seamlessly with FSM's orchestration layer.

• Facilitate discovery sessions with client accounting, finance, and operations teams to grasp their workflows, data challenges, and automation requirements.

• Produce thorough documentation of automations, agent behaviors, infrastructure, and client-specific implementations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building and managing production systems on AWS, with significant expertise in serverless architectures (Lambda/API Gateway), infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation or similar), and cloud security (IAM, secrets, multi-tenancy).

• Proficient in data engineering: Python, SQL, data pipelines, and a modern data stack (DBT, S3/data-lake patterns, and a BI tool).

• Strong discipline in CI/CD and Git; you produce reviewable code and effectively review others' work.

• Experience in integrating accounting/ERP/CRM platforms (such as QuickBooks, HubSpot, or similar) through APIs, webhooks, or connectors.

• Familiarity with LLM-based tools and APIs, including prompt design and evaluating agent outputs for accuracy and reliability.

• Practical experience utilizing AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code) as part of your daily development process, including planning, building, reviewing, and documenting code.

• Proven track record of working directly with clients or business stakeholders, leading discovery sessions, presenting findings, and managing expectations, rather than solely coding behind the scenes.

• You take initiative and make decisions. In ambiguous situations, you formulate recommendations, articulate your reasoning, and drive them forward instead of waiting for direction.

• You communicate effectively under pressure, providing updates on status, trade-offs, and blockers to both technical and non-technical audiences early on.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; with a strong alignment to US Eastern hours.
