Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Macedonia.

📋 Description

• Establish how data is comprehended, accessed, and utilized by AI systems throughout the organization.

• Develop clean, reusable analytical data layers within BigQuery.

• Transfer business logic from BI into the data warehouse.

• Define metrics, dimensions, and ensure semantic consistency.

• Facilitate dependable interaction between AI and data.

• Create schemas and guidelines to ensure AI delivers accurate outputs.

• Evaluate and enhance actual AI applications (rather than theoretical concepts).

• Implement access control at the data layer (distinct from the BI layer).

• Maintain uniform behavior across BI, AI, and internal tools.

• Ensure metric reconciliation across various data sources.

• Safeguard against sensitive data exposure and uncontrolled query expenses.

• Substitute manual data workflows with AI-driven processes.

• Develop agents for reporting, validation, and internal analytics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in SQL and data modeling (BigQuery or equivalent).

• Experience in constructing scalable data layers (beyond just pipelines).

• Comprehension of metrics, semantics, and analytical accuracy.

• Practical experience with LLMs / AI tools (hands-on, not theoretical).

• Capability to design systems where machines consume data.

• Bonus qualifications:

• Experience with dbt / semantic layers.

• Expertise in BigQuery performance and cost optimization.

• Familiarity with finance / brokerage data.

• Implementation of fine-grained access control.

• Experience with AI agent or tool-based workflows.
