Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Construct scalable and high-performance data infrastructure that converts intricate transactional and financial data into reliable datasets for regulatory reporting and business operations.

• Create dependable data pipelines and data products that facilitate regulatory reporting, financial operations, analytics, and operational insights while maintaining data accuracy and dependability.

• Design, develop, and enhance contemporary data models and distributed data pipelines.

• Utilize AI throughout the software development lifecycle to boost engineering productivity, enhance data quality, and create trustworthy data products.

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to interpret complex business and regulatory requirements into scalable, analytics-ready data models and solutions.

• Guide Data Engineering colleagues by sharing best practices, offering technical support, and helping elevate engineering standards across the team.

• Collaborate in an agile setting to deliver scalable data solutions that adapt to changing business and regulatory demands.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in designing, constructing, and maintaining scalable data platforms and distributed data systems.

• Strong expertise in Python and SQL, with practical experience in developing both real-time and batch data processing solutions.

• Familiarity with modern cloud-based data platforms utilizing technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, or equivalent distributed data processing and streaming technologies.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally Amazon Web Services (AWS), in addition to tools like Terraform, Datadog, and PagerDuty.

• A solid understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, ETL frameworks, distributed data processing, and contemporary data modeling techniques.

• Experience in creating reliable data solutions that support financial operations, regulatory reporting, auditability, reconciliation, or other highly governed data sectors.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar technologies.

• Proficient in English.
