Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Establish a long-term technical vision for the team.

• Formulate a technical strategy to develop components, frameworks, and libraries that enable seamless applications for our customers.

• Engage in hands-on development of scalable components and applications.

• Provide mentorship to engineers, including both senior and junior members of the team.

• Enhance and maintain standards for engineering and operational excellence.

• Foster and promote comprehensive documentation for code, libraries, and components to support collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in data engineering or related fields.

• Significant experience in building and maintaining production data pipelines using Python.

• Practical experience in integrating data from external APIs.

• Experience in operating batch ELT pipelines and managing data warehouses.

• Advanced SQL proficiency with experience in data modeling for analytics and reporting purposes.

• Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow.

• Knowledge of dbt or similar transformation tools, with the ability to collaborate closely with analytics teams.

• Proven ownership of production systems, including monitoring, debugging, and incident response responsibilities.

• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and make pragmatic technical decisions.

• Experience in cloud environments such as GCP (or equivalent).

• Understanding of CI/CD practices and source control (e.g., GitHub).

• Experience in collaborative and iterative development environments.

• Additional preferred experience includes:

• Designing or migrating pipelines toward incremental loading patterns.

• Working with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).

• Familiarity with data quality tools, testing, or observability.

• Exposure to BI tools or supporting analytics workflows.

• Quick adaptability to learning and adopting new tools or technologies.
