AI Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Become a part of the Data Science team as an AI Data Engineer, tasked with establishing the data foundations that ensure enterprise AI products are accurate, explainable, and scalable.

• Design and develop Snowflake and dbt pipelines that transition raw source data into curated gold-layer datasets.

• Construct semantic models that can be reliably utilized by LLM tools.

• Collaborate with data science, product, and engineering teams to transform data dictionaries and business definitions into AI-ready data products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, database engineering, or data platform development within production environments.

• Proficient hands-on experience with Snowflake, covering SQL development, performance tuning, security-aware design, cost optimization, and handling large-volume processing.

• Strong hands-on experience with dbt or similar ELT tools, which includes models, tests, documentation, lineage, and environment promotion.

• Proven experience in building data pipelines from raw to curated to gold stages, along with business-ready datasets.

• Advanced SQL and Snowflake development skills, incorporating complex transformations, views, stored procedures/Snowflake Scripting, and query optimization.

• Experience in creating semantic layers, semantic models, metrics, dimensions, relationships, and curated analytical views.

• Solid understanding of ER modeling, dimensional modeling, denormalized consumption models, and data grain management.

• Experience in converting data dictionaries and business definitions into physical models, dbt models, and semantic-layer definitions.

• Familiarity with Snowflake Cortex functionalities such as Cortex Analyst, Cortex Complete, and semantic-model-driven natural-language querying.

• Capability to collaborate with data science, product, engineering, and business teams to produce AI-ready data products.
