Junior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Designing the architecture for data products aimed at data analytics and data science, with a particular emphasis on use cases such as forecasting, feature engineering, customer behavior, and the integration of new data sources.

• Facilitate data transformation by establishing best practices in areas including data modeling, performance optimization, and data governance, ensuring that the data utilized within Prima is consistent, accessible, and trustworthy.

• Develop reusable technology that empowers teams to ingest, store, transform, and deliver their own data products.

• Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to investigate the product landscape and refine data requirements for improved data infrastructure.

• Strong educational background in STEM fields;

• Capability to deconstruct problems, learn swiftly, and experiment with various approaches;

• Foundational programming skills (the specific language is not crucial; we prioritize clean, maintainable code above all);

• A keen interest in data and software — whether through academic coursework, projects, or personal endeavors;

• Enthusiasm for constructing systems end-to-end: from data ingestion and transformation to model creation and service deployment;

• Drive and eagerness to learn from more experienced colleagues.

• Involvement in hackathons, contributions to open-source projects, or personal side projects;

• Proficiency in Python;

• Experience with data pipelines or distributed data systems (e.g., Spark, Airflow).
