Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and deployment of scalable, production-ready ETL/ELT pipelines for extensive data ingestion, transformation, and processing.

• Design and enhance cloud data warehouses, lakes, and lakehouses to facilitate advanced analytics, business intelligence, and reporting tasks.

• Implement automated data validation frameworks, monitoring systems, and testing suites.

• Ensure low-latency performance, high data accuracy, and adherence to strict security standards.

• Engineer robust data models utilizing Star Schema, Data Vault 2.0, and Dimensional Modeling techniques.

• Optimize query performance and storage efficiency.

• Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and Business Analytics stakeholders to convert business goals into scalable technical data architectures.

• Provide mentorship to mid-level and junior data engineers.

• Establish automated deployment methodologies for data pipelines.

• Maintain thorough architectural documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of specialized professional experience in data engineering.

• Demonstrated experience in architecting distributed data platforms within fast-paced startup or nearshore environments.

• Extensive hands-on expertise with Spark, Airflow, Kafka, dbt, and cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.

• Advanced skills in Python or Scala programming.

• Expert-level knowledge of complex SQL performance tuning and query optimization.

• Practical experience in developing enterprise data solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Profound understanding of Star Schema and Data Vault data modeling approaches.

• Strong independent troubleshooting skills.

• A passion for data integrity and proactive optimization of workflows.

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential for direct, real-time collaboration with U.S.-based client teams and stakeholders.
