Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency batch and streaming data pipelines for financial transactions.

• Architect, scale, and optimize cloud data warehouse and lakehouse systems to handle large volumes of structured and unstructured data.

• Work in partnership with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Product Managers to convert business requirements into scalable data solutions.

• Establish data quality frameworks, automated testing, monitoring, and alerting to ensure data integrity, reliability, availability, and SLA compliance.

• Promote DataOps methodologies, including CI/CD, workflow automation, and Infrastructure as Code for data infrastructures.

• Advocate for data governance, privacy, and security standards, ensuring compliance with GDPR/LGPD.

• Mentor junior and mid-level Data Engineers while fostering engineering best practices and contemporary architectures.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Big Data, or related Software Engineering positions.

• Demonstrated success in managing high-volume, production-quality data systems in dynamic settings.

• Excellent command of Python and SQL.

• Practical experience with Apache Spark/PySpark, Delta Lake, modern lakehouse designs, and Data Mesh concepts.

• Deep expertise in AWS data services, especially S3, Glue, Athena, EventBridge, Firehose, and Lambda.

• Familiarity with Apache Airflow or similar DAG-based orchestration tools.

• Experience with Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery.

• Background in designing real-time streaming architectures using Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis.

• Understanding of dbt.

• Knowledge of Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and AWS or GCP.

• Proficient in English for both technical and non-technical communication.

• Experience with Scala or Java is an advantage.

• Preferred experience in Fintech, Payments, E-commerce, or high-growth tech environments.

• Desirable experience with Databricks, GDPR/LGPD, Terraform, advanced DataOps automation, mentoring, or decisions related to technical architecture.
