Senior Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Lithuania.

📋 Description

• Lead the architectural design during the discovery phase, converting each client's business model, KPIs, and AI ambitions into a comprehensive target-state design and implementation strategy.

• Remain as the design owner throughout the build process, overseeing pipelines, models, and BI outputs from data and analytics engineers, while assisting the team in overcoming challenging decisions.

• Create AI-ready data foundations, including semantic layers, feature stores, vector databases, and embedding pipelines essential for the reliable operation of ML models, GenAI applications, and AI agents.

• Develop end-to-end cloud solutions for retail clients, covering ingestion, storage, transformation, and modeling (such as dimensional models, Data Vault, One Big Table, or the most suitable approach), along with BI and CDP.

• Instill engineering rigor by default through automated pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD practices, testing, and observability, ensuring that each platform becomes more cost-effective and reliable over time, rather than the reverse.

• Collaborate with Business Developers, Key Account Managers, and Strategists to co-sell solutions, shaping proposals, justifying estimates, and presenting architectures to a range of client stakeholders, from skeptical CTOs to non-technical executives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in data architecture, engineering leadership, or analytics engineering, with at least three cloud platforms designed and delivered—preferably in retail or e-commerce.

• Practical experience across the stack specified below; while mastery of every tool is not necessary, you should possess in-depth knowledge in at least one tool per category.

• A solid understanding of the requirements for ML, GenAI, and AI agents from a data platform perspective, including feature stores, embeddings, vector databases, RAG, semantic layers, governance, and lineage. We seek someone who can learn quickly across these areas, not just someone who has worked with all seven.

• Familiarity with the BI and activation aspects, including dimensional modeling, semantic layers, CDPs, identity resolution, consent management, and downstream activation into advertising, CRM, and personalization tools.

• Strong spoken and written English skills are a must.
