Senior Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Act as a reliable technical advisor for clients, connecting business strategies with cloud architecture.

• Oversee the design and implementation of cloud-native data architectures, focusing on AWS solutions.

• Cultivate client relationships, establishing trust through technical proficiency and strategic insights.

• Lead cross-functional teams in the design and deployment of scalable, cloud-native data platforms.

• Assist teams during project execution by providing architectural guidance and addressing obstacles.

• Mentor team members on best practices and technologies in cloud architecture.

• Design and implement resilient data lake architectures based on AWS.

• Transition legacy data systems to contemporary cloud platforms by developing migration strategies.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to convert business needs into architectural decisions.

• Create platforms that facilitate AI/ML workloads and incorporate AI tools into architectural designs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in data architecture roles with a strong emphasis on cloud technologies, particularly AWS.

• Proficient in English (C1 or higher) for effective client communication, technical documentation, and collaboration across functions.

• Proven experience in designing data platforms that prioritize AI and ML workloads, including feature engineering, feature stores, and model serving infrastructure.

• Demonstrated ability to navigate legacy data systems and execute migration strategies to modern cloud platforms.

• Familiarity with agentic AI technologies and a keen interest in applying AI-driven solutions within data architecture.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to tackle complex and ambiguous data architecture issues.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to convey technical concepts to varied audiences, including executives, engineers, and business stakeholders.

• An AI-first mindset with a proven track record of utilizing AI tools in technical tasks.

• Experience with AWS Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers) and data lake design patterns.

• Knowledge of Data Mesh principles and federated data governance models.

• Nice to Have:

• Practical experience with MLOps platforms and infrastructure, including model training pipelines and deployment automation.

• Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks and technologies for large-scale data transformation.

• Background in CPG, FMCG, Retail, or similar consumer-oriented industries.

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Data Analytics, Machine Learning).
