Senior Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and execute scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines utilizing Databricks and cloud services.

• Direct architectural decisions for contemporary data platforms, encompassing Medallion Architecture and Lakehouse frameworks.

• Develop and sustain ETL/ELT pipelines employing Python and SQL, adhering to engineering best practices.

• Guide and mentor engineering teams, overseeing project deliveries and promoting technical standards.

• Establish and enhance CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies for data platforms.

• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to convert business needs into scalable data solutions.

• Advocate for data governance, quality, and security utilizing tools like Unity Catalog.

• Participate in platform modernization efforts, including migrations from Data Warehouse to Lakehouse.

• Implement Agile methodologies to effectively plan, iterate, and deliver data engineering projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with Databricks, including Unity Catalog, Data Ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, and Medallion Architecture.

• Proficient programming skills in Python and SQL.

• At least 5 years of experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

• Over 5 years of experience as a technical lead or architect, managing engineering teams and coordinating project deliveries.

• More than 10 years of overall experience in software development or IT.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.

• Strong comprehension of Agile methodologies and engineering practices.
