This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Utilize SQL and various analytical methods to explore business inquiries and discrepancies related to policy, premium, coverage, claims, and BDX data.
• Analyze, reconcile, and verify BDX/bordereaux submissions as well as partner/carrier feeds, pinpointing gaps, mapping issues, and reporting impacts.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and align data initiatives with organizational objectives, determining data analysis and reporting requirements.
• Work alongside stakeholders to create recurring reports and dashboards using BI tools and appropriate datasets; utilize SQL to source and validate logic.
• Conduct root cause analysis to clarify data discrepancies or emerging business trends; communicate findings with clarity and urgency.
• Partner with data engineers to comprehend pipeline logic, recommend field-level enhancements, and assist with fixes related to BDX ingestion, mapping, and transformation.
• Define data models and structures that align with business needs, ensuring data is organized and accessible for analysis.
• Establish data quality standards, validation checks, and cleaning procedures for insurance datasets, including BDX submissions.
• Monitor and escalate data quality issues while providing recommendations for resolution.
• Take ownership and document key business metrics, calculations, and definitions for downstream users.
• Guide and support junior analysts in analytical logic, quality checks, and data storytelling.
• Maintain and update metadata that describes data assets, ensuring proper understanding and utilization of the data.
• Develop process flows and documentation for data collection, transformation, and analysis workflows.
• Over 7 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related analytical roles.
• More than 4 years of experience with commercial or specialty insurance data, including BDX/bordereaux, policy, premium, and claims datasets.
• Practical experience in validating, reconciling, or mapping BDX/bordereaux.
• Proficient in SQL and Excel; experienced with large datasets, normalized schemas, and data validation.
• Comfortable utilizing BI tools and creating end-user reporting solutions.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and documentation capabilities.
• Background in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, and business teams.
